Music Industry: Apple’s New App Subscription Terms Won’t Work

SAN FRANCISCO, February 16, 2011 — Jon Irwin, music subscription service Rhapsody’s president, said Tuesday that Apple’s new plan to partake of almost a third of app companies’ subscription revenues is “economically untenable.”

Copyright holders in the French music industry are reporting a staggering 25,000 “music-related” infringements to the country’s top enforcement authority on a daily basis, according to a a music industry trade group director quoted in the trade magazine Billboard.
