NTIA Gives $6.1 Million in Grants to North Carolina, Washington

WASHINGTON, September 16, 2010 – The Commerce Department’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration on Thursday announced two American Recovery and Reinvestment Act investments, totaling $6.1 million in grants, to North Carolina and Washington.

Genachowski and Strickling Meet to Discuss Spectrum Policy

WASHINGTON, June 14, 2010 – With spectrum policy, playing a major role in the national broadband plan the Federal Communications Commission and the National Telecommunications & Information Administration will have to increase their cooperation. Towards that end, FCC Chair Julius Genachowski met with NTIA Administrator Lawrence Strickling to discuss increased cooperation between the agencies.

State Broadband Data Award Winners Eligible for Additional Mapping Funds

WASHINGTON, June 1, 2010 – The National Telecommunications and Information Administration has announced that state governments and other awardees in its State Broadband Data and Development Grant Program may seek funding for up to three additional years of broadband mapping work.
