WASHINGTON, March 11, 2010 – The FCC launched its consumer broadband test today, enabling consumers to test the speed and other performance measurements of their broadband connections.

WASHINGTON, February 18, 2010 – The New America Foundation’s Open Technology Initiative has expanded its broadband stimulus resource library by adding four application guides to help those interested in applying for funding from two separate government programs.

The New America Foundation and a coalition of 38 other groups on Monday submitted comments regarding grant programs of the Department of Agriculture and the Department of Commerce.

WASHINGTON, November 19, 2009 – The Native American population is one of the most disconnected groups in the country, according to a study released Thursday on broadband penetration.

The Native Public Media and the New America Foundation’s Open Technology Initiative suggest that the Federal Communications Commission create a Tribal Broadband Plan within the national broadband plan that it is currently drafting.
