WASHINGTON, Aug. 31, 2026 – Charter CFO Jessica Fischer is stepping down Oct. 15, the company announced Monday.

Fischer was leaving “to relocate for another professional opportunity,” the company said [in a release](https://corporate.charter.com/newsroom/charter-announces-chief-financial-officer-transition?ref=broadbandbreakfast.com). She has been with the cable operator for nearly 10 years and served as CFO since October 2021.

The company said it would “begin a comprehensive search for her replacement immediately.” Charter appointed longtime finance executive **Kevin Howard** to interim CFO, starting Oct. 15.

Charter stressed [in a filing](https://ir.charter.com/node/36781/html?ref=broadbandbreakfast.com) with the Securities and Exchange Commission that Fischer didn’t leave on bad terms.

“Ms. Fischer’s decision to resign was not the result of any disagreement with the Company, the Company’s management or any member of the Company’s Board of Directors (the “Board”), or on any matter relating to the Company’s operations, policies, practices, or financial reporting,” the company wrote.

The SEC filing said a search for Fischer’s replacement was already underway, and that Fischer would work with Howard on a smooth transition.

Charter closed its $34.5 billion acquisition of Cox Communications this month, making it the largest cable ISP in the country.

“It has been a privilege to be part of Charter's growth over the past decade,” Fischer said in a statement. “I have learned so much from Chris and this team and am grateful for the opportunity and trust they placed in me to lead Charter’s financial operation.”
