BROADBAND BREAKFAST INSIGHT: Against a backdrop of complaints by American conservatives that Facebook and other social media giants promote non-conservative content, a new report finds that the opposite is occurring.

[Facebook](https://www.cnet.com/tags/facebook/?ref=broadbandbreakfast.com) allegedly protected the pages of far-right activists from deletion despite their owners engaging in behavior that warranted moderation, a documentary says.

Pages are normally deleted if they contain five or more items violating Facebook’s code of conduct, but Channel 4’s Dispatches series reports that popular ones are protected by “shielded review,” [according to the Guardian](https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2018/jul/17/facebook-protects-far-right-activists-even-after-rule-breaches-dispatches-c4?ref=broadbandbreakfast.com).

The documentary Inside Facebook: Secrets of a Social Network, [scheduled to air Tuesday night](http://www.channel4.com/programmes/inside-facebook-secrets-of-a-social-network/episode-guide/?ref=broadbandbreakfast.com), cites the pages of English far-right activist Tommy Robinson and the Britain First party as examples that repeatedly broke the social media site’s rules, but were left up.
