# FCC Commissioners Announce Staff Changes

WASHINGTON, Jan. 31, 2025 – Three leaders at the Federal Communications Commission are bringing on new staff. 

FCC Commissioners **Anna Gomez** and **Geoffrey Starks,** and **Nathan Simington** announced they will be having some turnover in their offices as the agency shifts into a new administration. 

**Jonathan Uriarte** will be joining Gomez’s staff as a Strategic Communications and Policy Advisor. Uriarte previously served as Director of Strategic Communications and Policy Advisor for Chairwomen **Jessica Rosenworcel**, and has worked as a communications advisor on Capitol Hill for Sen. **Chuck Schumer**, D-N.Y., Sen. **Mark Warner**, D-Va., and former Rep. **Stephanie Murphy**, D-FL. 

Commissioner Gomez [announced](https://docs.fcc.gov/public/attachments/DOC-409223A1.pdf?ref=broadbandbreakfast.com) her office will be losing **Hayley Steffen**, who served as her Legal Advisor on wireline and space issues. Steffen will stay within the FCC in a transition to the FCC’s Office of International Affairs. **Jessica Greffenius**, who served as a legal advisor for the wireline and public safety sectors, will also be departing Gomez’s staff to return to the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau.

Starks [announced](https://docs.fcc.gov/public/attachments/DOC-409107A1.pdf?ref=broadbandbreakfast.com) that **Kiara Ortiz** will be joining as Acting Legal Advisor. His office will also be losing Policy Advisor **Milla Anderson**, who will be joining the private sector.

Commissioner Simington [released a statement](https://docs.fcc.gov/public/attachments/DOC-409238A1.pdf?ref=broadbandbreakfast.com) Friday announcing that **Adam Cassady** has been appointed his chief of staff. Cassady previously served as Simington's senior legal advisor.
