# Rosenworcel Congratulates Carr as Next Head of FCC

WASHINGTON, Nov. 18, 2024 – FCC Chairwoman **Jessica Rosenworcel** on Monday [congratulated FCC Commissioner](https://broadbandbreakfast.com/trump-names-brendan-carr-next-fcc-chairman/) **Brendan Carr** a day after President-elect Trump said he would appoint Carr as the new FCC Chairman.

“I want to congratulate [Commissioner Carr](https://broadbandbreakfast.com/if-trump-won-what-would-carr-do-as-fcc-chairman/) on the announcement by the President-elect that he will serve as the Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission,” Rosenworcelsaid in [a statement](https://docs.fcc.gov/public/attachments/DOC-407496A1.pdf?ref=broadbandbreakfast.com). “From his time here, I am confident that Commissioner Carr is familiar with the staff, the responsibilities of this new role, and the importance of continued U.S. leadership in communications.”

In her statement, Rosenworcel did not disclose whether she is planning to remain at the FCC. Traditionally, incumbent FCC chairs leave their position upon the introduction of a new administration.

Rosenworcel was joined by Democratic FCC Commissioner **Geoffrey Starks** and Republican FCC Commissioner **Nathan** [**Simington** in congratulating](https://docs.fcc.gov/public/attachments/DOC-407492A1.pdf?ref=broadbandbreakfast.com) Carr.

“[Commissioner Carr](https://broadbandbreakfast.com/prominent-conservative-endorses-carr-for-fcc-chairman/) is a dedicated public servant and a recognized leader on the many issues before the Commission today, and I deeply respect his work,” [Starks said](https://docs.fcc.gov/public/attachments/DOC-407484A1.pdf?ref=broadbandbreakfast.com) in his statement. “We have worked together on numerous bipartisan priorities, including national security, connectivity, and media policy, and I look forward to continuing that important work.”

“I want to extend my heartiest congratulations to Chairman-Designate Carr on his well-deserved nomination. He will be a great and transformative Chairman, and I look forward to serving alongside him on the Carr Commission

As of publication, Democratic FCC Commissioner **Anna Gomez** had not issued a statement about Carr's appointment.
