Glo Fiber was created by Shentel as an all-fiber-to-the-home internet solution designed to deliver fast, reliable connectivity in the communities it serves. Founded in 1902, Shentel initially provided telephone service to rural farmers, but later added cable TV, mobile phone and broadband offerings. Shentel exited the wireless business five years ago.

Today, Glo Fiber delivers high speeds and low latency internet service across a 19,400-mile regional network, offering symmetrical upload and download speeds of up to 8 gigabits per second (Gbps) in eight contiguous states in the eastern U.S.
