The call is the first one since founder **Elon Musk** took the company public on [June 12](https://broadbandbreakfast.com/spacex-soars-25-in-wall-street-debut-and-makes-elon-musk-the-first-trillionaire/). After the market opened, shares in SpaceX soared 25%, making Elon Musk the world’s first trillionaire.

As of June 17, the company announced it had raised a total of [$85.7 billion](https://broadbandbreakfast.com/spacex-final-ipo-tally-shifts-upward-to-85-7-billion/) in its initial public offering, the largest IPO in history.

SpaceX, founded in 2002, is the parent company of the low-Earth orbit satellite company Starlink. The company went public to help fund its goals to make life multiplanetary. During the ceremonial bell ringing ceremony, Musk [said](https://broadbandbreakfast.com/spacex-soars-25-in-wall-street-debut-and-makes-elon-musk-the-first-trillionaire/), “Whoever you are watching this, SpaceX wants to be able to take you to the moon, to take you to Mars, and ultimately beyond.”
