# Spectrum Expands Service in Southeastern Ohio

WASHINGTON, June 3, 2026 — Spectrum announced continued expansion of its rural broadband services in southeastern Ohio, calling the work “significant progress.”

“Our teams continue to refine our rural construction process, learning from every buildout and accelerating the pace at which we connect homes and businesses,” Area Vice President **Jesse Femyer** said [in a May 27 press release](https://corporate.charter.com/newsroom/spectrum-celebrates-expansion-of-fiber-broadband-network-in-southeastern-ohio?ref=broadbandbreakfast.com).

Spectrum, owned by Charter Communications, plans to expand fiber access in more than 20 Ohio counties as part of its nationwide program. The company [connected more than 20,000 Ohio homes in March 2026](https://corporate.charter.com/newsroom/spectrum-expands-fiber-broadband-network-in-western-ohio?ref=broadbandbreakfast.com).

Spectrum’s buildout is partly funded through the Rural Digital Opportunity Fund and other programs such as Ohio’s Broadband Line Extension fund, which [announced it was accepting applicants](https://broadbandbreakfast.com/ohio-line-extension-program-nears-close-with-funding-still-available/) for the $200 million in remaining awards.
