Press Release
WASHINGTON, July 12, 2009 – BroadbandCensus.com announced that it will host two public webinars on navigating the broadband stimulus maze, with special reports from the news staff of BroadbandCensus.com, plus informed guests.
The events will take place in the days after the meeting Broadband Breakfast Club on Tuesday, July 14. House Majority Whip James E. Clyburn, D-S.C., has announced that he will speak at the July 14 event, on “How the FCC’s National Broadband Plan Will Affect Stimulus Spending.” Registration for the Broadband Breakfast Club is available at http://broadbandbreakfast.eventbrite.com.
The first webinar will take place the following day, on Wednesday, July 15, from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. ET. It will discuss the National Information and Telecommunications Administration’s Notice of Funds Availability (“NoFA”) on broadband data and broadband mapping.
This NoFA was released on July 1, but thus far the NTIA has declined the opportunity to comment on or explain questions that may be raised by it.
Join reporters from BroadbandCensus.com, plus a panel of experts, as BroadbandCensus.com Editor and Executive Director Drew Clark leads a discussion about what is known, and not known, about navigating the broadband data process.
Other confirmed panelists include:
- Chris Graham, SpatialInfo.com
- Craig Settles, Broadband Expert and Consultant, Successful.com
- Michael Tattersall, President, Stratsoft LLC
Registration for the webinar is available at a special low price of $35.00, including a one month subscription to BroadbandCensus.com Weekly Report (a $190.00/month value!). Registrants will also receive a FREE Special Report on the broadband data and mapping NoFA. Register online at http://broadbanddatawebinar.eventbrite.com.
The second webinar, on Thursday, July 16, from 2 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. ET, will discuss the NTIA and Rural Utilities Service’ NoFAs on the Broadband Initiative Program and the Broadband Technology Opportunities Program.
At this webinar, reporters from BroadbandCensus.com and a panel of commenters who have been assessing the NoFA will assess how applicants will get the most points for their broadband applications. Join a group of individuals who have pored over the documents and sought to come up with common threads in the process.
Registration for the July 16 webinar is also available at a special low price of $35.00, including a one month subscription to BroadbandCensus.com Weekly Report (a $190.00/month value!). Registrants will also receive a FREE Special Report on the BTOP/BIP NoFA. Register online at http://btopwebinar.eventbrite.com.
Both webinars follow the special webcast, “Broadband Stimulus National Town Hall Webcast Workshop,” co-produced by BroadbandCensus.com, TV Worldwide, and National League of Cities TV. During the webcast, co-hosts Drew Clark and Marty Stern, a partner at K&L Gates, quizzed top NTIA and RUS officials on the broadband stimulus NoFAs.
Among the guests were Ken Kuchno, Director of the Broadband Division of RUS; and Anthony Wilhelm, Deputy Associate Administrator, NTIA Office of Telecommunications and Information Applications.
A second panel featured of experts on NTIA on RUS funding programs. Panelists included:
