WASHINGTON, June 18, 2010 –In an interview with Bloomberg Verizon Wireless CFO John Killian stated that they will follow the move always from unlimited data in a similar manner to AT&T when the firm introduces its LTE service.
“We will probably need to change the design of our pricing where it will not be totally unlimited, flat rate,” Killian.
This shift away from unlimited will not affect most users as they generally only use between 600-800Mb of data per month. With more customers using smartphones the network will become increasingly stressed. “Smartphone users will make up 70 percent to 80 percent of the company’s customers over time, up from about 17 percent today” Killian said.
