Drones: FCC Chairman Brendan Carr is seeking new ideas on ways to boost U.S. drone dominance. Carr visited Anduril Industries’ Texas test site Tuesday with CEO Brian Schmipf and COO Matt Grimm to watch demonstrations of drone and counter-drone systems. The visit came as the FCC said it is working with U.S. drone companies to carry out President Trump’s strategy for “American drone dominance.”

Today, the FCC’s Wireless Telecommunications Bureau and Office of Engineering and Technology are expected to issue a Public Notice seeking comment on regulatory and spectrum changes the agency could adopt to strengthen U.S. drone technology, manufacturing, and operations.

“President Trump has been clear that the Administration will act to secure our airspace and unleash American drone dominance,” Carr said, calling drone production, deployment, and exports “core elements of U.S. national security, technological sovereignty, and global competitiveness.” (More after paywall)
