Junk Fees: A sweeping Illinois bill targeting ‘junk fees’ is headed to Gov. JB Pritzker’s (D) desk – but major communications providers won’t be bound by its new disclosure rules. The measure requires most businesses to advertise prices that include all mandatory fees. But it carves out broadband providers, cable operators, satellite TV companies, and telecom carriers, deeming them compliant if they follow existing federal pricing‑label regulations.
