April 2, 2026 – IQ Fiber’s all-fiber network launched in Delaware for the first time on Monday, and will serve as the beginning of a $150 million investment from the company.

Launched in Kent County, Delaware, the fiber-optic internet will allow households and businesses to be the first to access the network. The company will continue to build out fiber over the next 18-24 months, and will bring 50 permanent jobs to the state.

“Delaware residents have had limited options when it comes to internet service, and that’s exactly why we’re here,” said IQ Fiber CEO Ted Schremp. “Our approach is simple, build a modern 100% fiber network and power it with great people that live and work in the markets we serve. We offer straightforward pricing, no contracts, and support from real people who understand the importance of a having a consistent, reliable internet connection.”

Democratic Delaware Gov. Matt Meyer placed internet expansion as a key priority for the state. He celebrated Delaware being “closer than ever to being the first state in the country with universal high-speed broadband” in his 2026 State of the State Address on Jan. 22, while also acknowledging that more progress has yet to be achieved in the coming year.

Under Meyer’s Permitting Accelerator, a program designed to fast-track infrastructure connectivity and economic projects, IQ Fiber’s investment will be designated as a priority broadband project. This will allow for state agency coordination, removing red tape, and accelerated permitting, in hopes of getting more communities connected faster, a message Delaware Broadband Office Executive Director Connor Perry reiterated as a key reason it hasn’t faced many permitting obstacles.

“Delaware is growing, our infrastructure needs to keep pace, and IQ Fiber’s investment in our state is exactly the kind of private sector commitment that creates jobs and expands connectivity for our residents,” Meyer said. “That’s what our Permitting Accelerator is designed to support, and it’s why we’re committed to being a willing partner every step of the way.”

Schremp said IQ Fiber’s priority broadband designation will allow for streamlined network deployment and said he hopes to work to develop Delaware’s infrastructure. Republican Delaware Rep. Lyndon D. Yearick, echoed this and said the project is “critical to Delaware’s economic future and quality of life.”

IQ Fiber’s network will be able to deliver up to 10 gigabits per second, with 99.99 percent reliability to support streaming and remote work. The company is also investing in its long-term presence in Delaware by establishing a Sales, Engineering, and Technical Operations Center in Dover, Delaware, to support customers.
