Phoebe Yang Assumes Senior Advisory Position At FCC
WASHINGTON, August 3, 2010 – Yesterday, FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski named Phoebe Yang as Senior Advisor to the Chairman on Broadband. Yang will be responsible for managing the Commission’s broadband priorities pursuant to the National Broadband Plan.
WASHINGTON, August 3, 2010 – Yesterday, FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski named Phoebe Yang as Senior Advisor to the Chairman on Broadband. Yang will be responsible for managing the Commission’s broadband priorities pursuant to the National Broadband Plan.
“Phoebe has played an absolutely critical role in creating the National Broadband Plan, and I am delighted that she will be staying to help me lead our continuing work to ensure that the enormous benefits of broadband are available and affordable to all Americans,” said Chairman Genachowski.
Prior to her appointment, Yang held positions at Discovery Communications, as Vice President of Corporate Development and Vice President of Digital Media Operations and Strategy; and at AOL Time Warner as Vice President of International Strategy and Policy focused on China. She also served under President Bill Clinton as Special Coordinator for China Rule of Law. Most recently, she held a post as General Counsel of the Omnibus Broadband Initiative at the Commission, in which role she was Chair of the Broadband Steering Committee.
