Mignon Clyburn served for nearly nine years as a Commissioner on the Federal Communications Commission, including 5 1/2 months as the first woman (acting) chair. Her commitment to close persistent digital, communications and opportunities divides in rural and low wealth communities continues through her media, technology and telecommunications consulting firm, MLC Strategies. The South Carolina native championed Net Neutrality, diversity and inclusion in media ownership and STEM, and the elimination of predatory rates for prison telecommunications services.
