FCC to Hold Broadband Field Hearing on Impact on Disability Community
As part of its preparation for the national broadband plan, the Federal Communications Commission will hold another hearing on the topic of disabilities at Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C. The college is geared toward the deaf and hard of hearing.
As part of its preparation for the national broadband plan, the Federal Communications Commission will hold another hearing on the topic of disabilities at Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C. The college is geared toward the deaf and hard of hearing.
Commissioner Michael Copps will be the host and the public is encouraged to attended the event to present their ideas and comments to the commission. This will be the first field hearing on the topic of disabilities.
In August the commission held the first of two workshops on the event, with the second official workshop entitled “Broadband Accessibility for People with Disabilities II: Barriers, Opportunities and Policy Recommendations,” currently scheduled for October 20.
