WASHINGTON, December 16, 2009 – Members of the Washington law firm Blooston, Mordkofsky, Dickens, Duffy & Prendergast announced Wednesday they are investing in a client, xG Technology, which is operating a mobile Voice over Internet Protocol showcase in the Ft. Lauderdale area covering more than 30 square miles.
The telecommunications firm says xG Technology has developed the “world’s first mobile VoIP network.” Members of the firm purchased nearly 150,000 shares in a recent private placement of stock by the company.
“We have worked with xG Technology since its inception,” said Hal Mordkofsky in a statement. “We believe that the technology xG has developed represents a unique approach to addressing the need for more spectrum capacity, which could prove to be an important development for the telecommunications industry.” The law firm represents rural telecommunications companies, wireless carriers, private radio licensees, cable TV companies, equipment manufacturers and industry associations before the Federal Communications Commission, courts, and state and local government agencies.
