Satellite Industry to FCC: We're Here!

Satellites are a “critical component of the wireless ecosystem,” said the Satellite Industry Association in comments filed Thursday before the Federal Communications Commission. The commission has sought comment on competition and innovation in the wireless industry.

“SIA and its members encourage the Commission to continue their efforts in ensuring the inclusion of satellite as an integral partof the Innovation NOI,” the group said, “due to the innovative technological characteristics of satellites, their unique geographic scope and contribution to public interest and national security.”
