WISPA – Broadband Without Boundaries was founded in 2004 to promote the development, advancement, and unification of the WISP industry, with WISP defined as “an Internet service provider that utilizes wireless, fiber optics, or other technologies to distribute broadband or related Internet Protocol-derived services.” WISPA represents the interests of the evolving WISP ecosystem, which is comprised primarily of small, innovative entrepreneurs who provide fiber and wireless broadband solutions to consumers, businesses, first responders, and community anchor institutions.
